The problem was not that the people up in the booth made a mistake in reviewing the particular play. the problem was they did not get the information down in time. They ran out of time. That is why the play was not corrected. Unfortunately. that is probably the best metaphor that I can come up with to describe what is happening on the immigration bill. There is a very controversial aspect of it called the Schumer amendment. Now some of us are being told that even though we have some severe concerns about the Schumer amendment. there is no time to deal with it. We will have to accept it or we will be responsible for stopping immigration reform in this Congress. Mr. Speaker. that is total nonsense.
