From the United States side we have not given Mexican problems the attention they deserve. We treat Mexico as another Third World country with a big debt. We have called each other corrupt and incompetent. From the Mexican side. however. President de la Madrid has failed to realize that the debt and immigration are also Mexican problems. There are also problems he has not addressed: Corruption. debt. political participation to name a few. We have serious bilateral relationships and problems that have to be addressed at the Presidential level. Drug interdiction. immigration.
