A child in Mississippi is Just as valuable as a child in New Hampshire or Oregon and. with very small and inconsequential differences. costs just as much to feed and raise and educate and nurture. For years. those of us in Congress have asked for a national standard for children because they are all our children. And. on the same basis. I would say. from a different perspective. that the Federal Government. being responsible for the presence of illegal aliens. ought to be responsible for their medical care. I hope this legislation will be received favorably. I can imagine that today in this Senate there are not that many persons aware of the matter.
