Session #99 · 1985–87

Speech #990204004

We have heard your plea and we stand together with you. hoping that. in fact. "Next Year in Jerusalem" you may live freely with your loved ones. Mr. President. once again I implore the Soviet Government to put an end to the bondage of the Davidovitch family and thousands of other refusenik families. At the very least. officials should honor the provisions of the Helsinki Final Act which allow for the freedom of emigration. It is a basic human right. I hope we will all recommit ourselves. during this 1986 call to conscience. to break through the wall of inhumanity and oppression.
