Speaker. today. after House legislative business has been completed. a number of members will speak in support of H.R. 585. the bill that will provide judicial review of benefit claims denied by the VAs Board of Veterans Appeals. Mr. Speaker. the 28 million American veterans are the only major group of men and women denied access to the American system of justice. Welfare and social security recipients. illegal aliens. and even convicted felons can appeal to the Federal courts. but not the veterans who defended our Nation in time of need. H.R. 585 now has 223 cosponsors. of both parties. A Veterans Affairs Committee vote will come soon.
