During the past three years. I have contacted President Ronald Reagan. Secretary General Mikhail Gorvachev. Soviet Foreign Minister Eduard Shevardnadze and the State Department about Indas family. The State Department has placed her familys names on the list of Soviet Jewish people who have been repeatedly denied permission to emigrate. This list Is presented to highlevel Soviet officials to emphasize the deeply felt belief of the American people and Government that Soviet Jewish people should not be forced to stay In the Soviet Union against their will. I am hopeful that Secretary General Gorbachev will allow this family to be reunited.
