She is no longer the prima ballerina of the Kirov Ballet. she is no longer a professional dancer in the Soviet Union. In fact. she holds a menial job which she must quit every 6 months In order to reapply. under Soviet rules. to emigrate from her country and to join her family in New York. She has applied 10 times and has been refused 10 times. Her husband. an engineer. is now working as a manual laborer in Leningrad.
