Without Mr. Pages testimony a number of these cases will simply have to be dropped. I have requested that Commissioner Alan Nelson of INS use his discretionary authority as commissioner to block the pending deportation of Mr. Page and to allow him to remain in this country until such time as his immigrant visa can be Issued. I believe that due to the distinguished and valorous service of Mr. Page to his community. his contribution to the Immigration and Naturalization Service. and the unique circumstances of his case. that special consideration is warranted.
