Session #99 · 1985–87

Speech #990177278

AntiSemitism continues to be thinly masked as antiZionism. and remains directed against Judaism. Nevertheless antiSemitic articles. books. and phamplets have invaded nearly all segments of Soviet society. Their courage of Jewish refusniks in the Soviet Union in the face of despair: their determination in the face of fear. their hope in the face of punishment must compel us to demonstrate our solidarity with them until every Jew who wants to leave the Soviet Union can emigrate freely. We cannot remain silent. nor do we have the right to remain silent. Organizations such as the National Council of Jewish Women is characteristic of international human rights and support groups who will not let this issue die.
