They continue to educate their children in the Estonian culture. keeping the language. folklore. and tradition alive. Their community here in America is very tightly knit. and each year participates in celebrations with Estonian communities all over the world. Almost all EstonianAmericans still have relativesbrothers. sisters. parents. and cousinswho continue to reside in this forgotten land. Rarely awarded tourist visas for these Americans provide us with proof of Soviet attempts to deprive these people of artistic creativity. academic endeavors. and a host of other cultural pursuits and human justices. I ask my colleagues to join with me today in remembering these people and sharing in their struggle to bring independence and human freedom to fruition.
