Our work on their behalf. as Shcharansky has so clearly reminded us. is a potent antidote to the Soviets policy of intimidation and isolation. By remembering. by speaking out. we not only kindle the promise of future freedom. we provide sustenance to prevail through the trials of daily life In the Soviet system.
