It does not really have an explanation. but it compares September of 1985 to September of 1975 and points out that during September of 1985. we had the immigration bill debate on the Senate floor. which is one of the great debates on the Senate floor. the SimpsonMazzoli bill. whether you agree with it or disagree with it. It pointed out that there was virtually no coverage except some brief press clips from a press conference or something of that sort. That is the sort of issue. regarding immigration. whatever your stand on it is and all the amendments. that if it were available on TV. I would think would be something schoolchildren and adults across this country. regardless of how they feel about it. would be interested in. the various amendments we debated hereI think we had something like 20 amendments that were debated. That really is one of the great debates of our time and there was virtually no coverage or. according to this article. no coverage of it.
