I have expressed my concern about many human rights abuses Including the use of slave labor In the Soviet Union. persecution of Vladimir Khailo. a Baptist from Krasny Luch. U.S.S.R.. the persecution of Soviet Jews. and denial of basic human and civil rights in Nicaragua. 1 have also supported legislative initiatives and other efforts to bring an end to these situations. As human rights abuses continue to occur. I will continue to speak out against them and support viable efforts to end such abhorrent treatment of our fellowman. Americans and other nations of the free world must continue to seek justice and adherence to the basic principles of human rights and freedom of speech. religion. and emigration worldwide.
