Session #99 · 1985–87

Speech #990112974

This Government must make a decision about what to do with them. I do not believe the dangerous Mariels should be paroled or let out on the streets. They have demonstrated that they are a serious threat to our communities. They should be held in maximum security facilities until our Government can negotiate their deportation. But. someone within the Department of Justice keeps saying there are no rooms in our prisons and have opted to house these criminals in facilities like Krome North. This is like keeping a brahma bull in my backyardits only a matter of time before he kicks down the fence.
