I introduce this amendment today because I think you and I are concerned about stopping the genocide that is taking place in Ethiopia. Over 2 million people have been expelled from Ethiopia. Over 1.3 million have been relocated for political reasons in the southern part of the country. The Ethiopian regime is destroying refugee camps. For example. In Ibnet. some 60.000 people were driven out of that refugee camp. and many of the huts were burned while people were still in the huts. Over 30.000 people are still missing. As one nurse put It: Even the daily preparation of bread for the people Is a wrenching experience.
