I think when you look around and see the Prime Ministers of all the ASEAN nations collectively issue a statement in Bangkok in February of this year diplomatically calling for the United States to provide humanitarian and military support for the Cambodian people. and I quote. "in their political and military struggle to liberate their homeland." I think we see that we do have the support of the democratic forces in the area. I think this amendme..t. Mr. Chairman. has good balance. I just respond to my friend from Kentucky in that there are refugees at present. The only way of stemming this is to achieve our twin goals of the exodus of the Vietnamese and the lack of Khmer Rouge power.
