These coinsthree in numberwill be sold to the public. and the profits will be used to help pay for the restoration of the statue and of Ellis Island. As Members know. the Statue of Liberty has suffered considerably over the years from exposure to the elements. and from the normal wear and tear that can be expected in 100 years of history. Its restoration is a project close to the hearts of the American people. particularly those 100 million who are descended from immigrants who passed through Ellis Island. As many of my colleagues know. I had hoped to Join with my colleagues.
