Session #99 · 1985–87

Speech #990045071

President. I rise today as a participant in the congressional call to conscience for Soviet Jews. As many of my colleagues have done. I would like to point out some of the injustices which have been occurring repeatedly to the Soviet Jews who wish to emigrate. In particular. I would like to mention the life of Boris Vainerman. Boris is a physicist who currently lives in Leningrad. For the past 5 years. he and his family have been trying to emigrate to Israel to be with his uncle who is an invalid. He has been refused repeatedly. For 10 years.
