Mr. President. while the observance of AsianPacific American Heritage Month has helped foster a new sense of pride among AsianPacific Americans during the last 6 years. its major achievement has been the awakening of a national awareness of their contributions and achievements. In that sense. AsianPacific American Heritage Week is for all Americans. It fosters unity among Americans and provides hope for the Asian immigrants who continue to come to this country in search of peace and a democratic way of life. I urge my colleagues to join me In saluting all AsianPacific Americans as we observe AsianPacific Heritage Week.
