Session #99 · 1985–87

Speech #990028348

He has been subjected to harassment and physical abuse and continues to be denied permission to work as a psychiatrist. He currently fills an administrative position at a clinic in Kiev. The Soviets have denied the Gluzmans th. right to live full lives in the U.S.S.R. and at the same time the right to emigrate to Israel. We. in the Congress of the United States. have a responsibility to the Gluzmans and to the many other refuseniks whom we have "adopted" to see to it that the Soviets uphold internationally recognized standards of human rights. I urge my colleagues to join me by cosponsoring House Joint Resolution 270 and by making our voices heard this Sunday.*
