Session #99 · 1985–87

Speech #990021491

If there is to be a lasting meaning in why we fought the Second World War. it is to be found in the evil that conceived an ideology based upon racial arrogance. bigotry. hatred. and militar sin. Even now. four decadeE later. there are constant reminders of the Holocaust affecting us all. The Office of Special Investigations in the Department of Justice continues to research those instances where Nazi war criminals and collaborators gained both admittance and citizenship in our country. Since the program began in 1979. a number of mass murderers who fraudulently entered the United States have been denaturalized and deported. We hear from time to time that old crimes should be forgotten and that the money spent on prosecution of war criminals could be better used elsewhere. Nothing. could be more wrong.
