The food and supplies that will be provided as a result of this legislation are very desperately needed in over 20 countries in Africa. The conferees met last Wednesday. March 27. and agreed to appropriate an additional $625 million in food aid through title II of Public Law 480. which includes $16 million in unobligated Commodity Credit Corporation [CCC] balances. and $175 million for disaster and refugee assistance programs administered by the Agency for International Development [AID] and the Department of State.
