He has been the subject of much harassment and numerous searches. during which his books and papers have been confiscated. Leah Maryasin. Alexanders wife. has been ill for several years. but recently her condition has worsened. Leahs deteriorating condition makes all the more urgent the familys wish to be reunited with daughter Rita and their grandsons in Israel. while Leah remains alive. I ask this body to join me and my constituents in calling for the Soviet Government to grant exit visas to the Maryasin family. and for cessation of all intimidation tactics against those who seek to leave the Soviet Union.*
