At this time. I think it only befitting to mention Marina Shenderovich. a 25yearold refusenik. Marina. a former biology student who was expelled from Moscow University in 1981. may be the recipient of a full academic scholarship at Rutgers University. As a result of her emigration request. Soviet authorities had her expelled from the university where she was preparing for a medical career. The Helsinki accord has served as a tremendous source of encouragement and inspiration to the oppressed. Although I regret to say that the pleadings of the refusenik have not been met. their appeals will not be silenced.
