This investigation. which began a month earlier. has resulted in the confiscation of 5 kilograms of cocaine. $82.000 in U.S. currency. 1 automatic weapon. 5 silencers. 20 silencer kits. and 20 other firearms4 of which were stolen. Seventeen individuals have been convicted in three different conspiracies to sell drugs and illegal weapons. Most of these individuals have long criminal histories in narcotics trafficking. Many are Marlel Cuban refugees who have spent long terms in Cuban prisons. It was in response to the criminal activities of such individuals that the Vice Presidents Task Force was formed.
