Session #98 · 1983–85

Speech #980275127

The caring of those who are unable to help themselves is a great vocation and I would like to honor the members of an outstanding family from my district who have greatly contributed to such a vocation. The Coury family opened its first nursing home. the Aristocrat West. on the west side of Cleveland. in 1966. Since that time. the family has expanded its elderlycare operation. known as Aristocrat Management. to 10 facilities throughout northern Ohio. But behind the bricks and mortar of the Coury empire. lies another story. The family matriarch. Nasra Coury. immigrated to America from Lebanon in 1910. It was here where she met her husband Joseph. a Pennsylvania coal miner. After her husbands death in 1951. she moved her eight children: Elias.
