Session #98 · 1983–85

Speech #980255879

I thank the gentleman for yielding me this time. Mr. Speaker. I want to commend the chairman and the gentleman from New York for this resolution. I think this resolution puts us solidly on record. I hope it passes unanimously. as being opposed to what is a very unfair. lacking in humanitarianism. policy that exists in South Africa. in all of its manners of making refugees out of people. in a sense. for something that is theirs: their homes. Mr. Speaker. I want to say that as the Houses representative to the U.N. Decade for Women. one of the things that was of great sadness to me was that we as a country were not solidly on record against the unfair policies in South Africa.
