Mr. Speaker. over the years I have had the priviledge of being an associate and friend of the late Irvin Feld. who passed away last week in Florida. As owner and promoter of the Ringling Brothers Circus. Irvin Feld brought joy and laughter into the hearts of children and adults alike. He also exemplified the best of the free enterprize system and the entrepreneural spirit. The son of Eastern European immigrants. Mr. Feld fell in love with the circus as a child. and as a teenager in the 1930s he worked at a somewhat related occupationselling carnival trinkets. After years of hard work. including management of the circus. he bougth the "Greatest Show on Earth" in 1967.
