Mr. President. with passage of Senate Concurrent Resolution 94 the U.S. Senate has made clear to the world its commitment to provide refuge in America for those members of the Syrian Jewish community who desire to emigrate. It is to be hoped that the government of Syria will endeavor to demonstrate a willingness to permit such emigration in the weeks and months to come. Senators will recall that Senate Concurrent Resolution 94 was introduced by the Senator from New York earlier this year in the wake of a tragic incident in Allepo. Syria that underscored the special danger in which the Syrian Jewish community finds itself under the current Syrian regime.
