I think the Speaker gave us the timeframe in which he works. In other words. if he wants to get something to the floor. he can do it within a 48hour time period. So what he has really told us is that if he really wanted a crime control bill on the floor. he could have it out here in a 48hour period. if he really wanted an immigration bill to move out here. he could have it out here within a 48hour period. if he really wanted the balanced budget amendment to the Constitution. he could get it out here in a 48hour period. The point is. he does not want any of those things and we are not going to see them out here in a 48hour period. He gave us the timeframe.
