Earlier this year. Lev Elbert was released from prison and reunited with his family. He had refused to report for reserve military service because this service could have been used as an excuse for refusing to allow him to emigrate in the future. His wife Inna had gone on a hunger strike to protest drug charges against Lev. which were eventually dropped. Their son Carmi was injured in antiSemitic attacks at his school.
