I thank the chairman for yielding. Mr. Chairman. I rise in support of the emergency immigrant education section of the bill. the Emergency Immigrant Education Act. This section was originally introduced by the honorable majority leader and myself in March. and has since been incorporated into this bill. As one who represents some of the poorest school districts in our Nation. those which reside along the United StatesMexico border. where such legislation and Federal assistance is most warranted. I know the necessity of this bill. And. I know the long fight this Congress has been through to get this assistance.
