I rise in oppostion to the amendment. I fully agree that the legalization is the other lobe of the heart of SimpsonMazzoli. In spite of the fact that this bill in its present form is contradictory and is still far from immigration reform. I believe that legalization is the only positive measure in the bill. Without it. the only things left are legalized exploitation and the protection of special interests under the H2 Program. Legalization will make SimpsonMazzoli more respectable as it will legalize thousands of undocumented. That is. of course. if they happen to qualify under the restrictions that have already been imposed by this House. The people who will be legalized are people who have come from all over the world. from Europe. from Asia. from Canada. from Latin America. almost on an equal basis.
