I commend each of you. I continue to oppose the amnesty provision of this bill and say this to my colleagues. My grandparents on both sides of my family came to this country as immigrants but they came legally. Also I know there are many who have come illegally since that time. who have allowed their children and their childrens children to take a leadership role in this country. but I would say that there must be a point in this Nation where we say the rule of law is what we. the Congress and this body. must try to abide by. So much has been said during this debate about the message to those illegals who have come to this country and the problems that it will create.
