Many Members may think that getting amnesty will be easy. that it can be done merely by meeting residency requirements. This is far from the truth. The legalization appeals process is complicated. and it may confuse those seeking legal status. Many times. due to the fact that immigrants are not familier with the way our government systems work. or because they speak a different language. they do not understand what is being asked of them and do not follow instructions properly. Often what can happen is that these individuals fill out applications inaccurately and incompletely. I am concerned about these people and about how our Government treats them.
