I would like to call your attention to the continued difficulties experienced by Solomon Yosifovich Alber and his wife Evangelina Alber. Solomon Alber. a mathematician and physicist. was director of a computer research laboratory when he applied for visas so that he and his family could emigrate. Because of the request. Solomon was demoted and Angelina lost her job as a pathologist. On June 23. 1976. the New York Times reported that the Albers 15yearold son Mark had become the target of an officially inspired campaign of threats and violence.
