We want to be heard. to be listened to. This bill has too many imperfections to be taken up now. The Bible says that. "A wise man knows in his heart the right time and method for action." This is not the right time to begin consideration of this issue. nor is this bill the right method for solving our Nations immigration problems. My colleagues who are supporting this bill. I ask each and every one of them in their heart. if they stood here with so many of us who have understood what it is to be discriminated against. to understand what it is to be black or brown or yellow and living in America in 1984.
