Jose has progressed from being a $20 a week bakery worker to become the founder and president of the highly successful Desco Steel Building Products. Inc. which forecasts a $3 million year in Mr. de Santiagos story shows that despite the economic difficulties and complexities of modern life in America. the United States remains the land of opportunity and promise in todays world. The ageold attributes of hard work. good financial management. and motivation can still yield bounteous rewards. I would like to include de Santiagos story in the record as evidence that America is still the land of opportunity for both native and naturalized U.S. citizens.
