Kennedy once wrote a book called While England Slept which was an analysis of why the British people drifted into World War II. Winston Churchill called World War II the most unnecessary war. because he said it was so easily avoidable if only we had been awake. In other words. if 5 or 10 years from now there is a total disaster in Central America and there are millions of refugees in the United States and all of Central America has gone Communist and a committee comes back to investigate. that committee will find that one of the people that the Democratic leadership in this House helped in 1 day stop aid to the freedom fighters. stop aid to El Salvador. stop aid to Honduras and put Communist propaganda in the Speakers lobby.
