Mr. Speaker. this is to announce that the Subcommittee on Immigration. Refugees. and International Law has scheduled 1 day of public hearings on April 12. to consider legislation which has been introduced to grant extended voluntary departure to Salvadorans. The hearing will be held in room 2237 RHOB and will commence at 10:30. This hearing was originally scheduled for March 7. but had to be postponed. The subcommittee will receive testimony from the Departments of State and Justice and from Members of Congress. The subject of the hearing will be H.R. 4447. which was introduced by Hon. JOE MOAKLEY on November 17. 1983. to provide for the temporary suspension of deportation for certain aliens who are nationals of El Salvador. and to provide for Presidential and congressional review of conditions in El Salvador.e
