The answer is painfully obvious. the Nicaraguan people have responded with their feet to the oppressive and totalitarian rule imposed upon them. Rather than endure the injustice and the tyranny of the MarxistLeninist regime which the Sandinistas have sought to create. many brave Nicaraguans have taken their chances in other. freer nations. The time has come to recognize Central Americas "other" refugees. I recommend the following article that recently appeared in the Washington Times as an excellent and enlightening account of their plight. It details some of the abuses and atrocities committed by the Sandinistas against their own people. [From the Washington Times.
