Over the years. the UNA has worked to preserve the unique and rich heritage of Ukrainians while helping them become active participants in American society. Upon its founding on February 22. 1894. the UNA established cultural. religious. patriotic and social programs to provide support for Ukrainians in the New World. The UNA further provided much needed financial assistance to new immigrants. The UNA continues to sponsor a wide range of community activities for its members and to extend financial support to Ukrainians across the country. Through newspapers and periodicals. the UNA keeps its members informed of news and events of interest to the UkrainianAmerican community.
