Again. the House approved these funds by a vote of 224 to 189. We provided: $3.645 billion for chapter 1. $812.8 million for vocational education. $112 million for adult education. $382.3 million for the community services block grant. $2.07 billion for lowincome energy assistance. $1.357 billion for education of the handicapped. $1.037 billion for vocational rehabilitation. $145 million for immigrant education. $570 million for college workstudy. $380 million for supplemental opportunity grants. $347 million for community health centers. $28 million for National Technical Institute for the Deaf. $3.559 billion for Job training. $34 million for Gallaudet College. $10 million for emergency shelter for the homeless. $150 million for child nutrition. But again the Senate frustrated the will of the House. This time at least the Senate had to agree to a conference committee. otherwise. the Government would have come to a halt without a continuing resolution.
