Mr. Speaker. for the last 2 years. the Vestavia Hills Chamber of Commerce has presented the "Land of Opportunity Awards" to firstgeneration immigrants with citizenship intentions who are working and demonstrating by example that the United States is still the "Land of Opportunity." Last year I was privileged to have been given the honor of presenting the award to six nominees. They included Tuan A. Le from Vietnam. who arrived in the United States in 1975. acquired a B.S. degree in mathematics. a B.S. degree in English. is working on an M.S. degree in mathematics and electrical engineering. and is employed at Rust International Cori. in Birmingham.
