The allegations stated in the letter are highly disturbing. The authors point out how the Khomeini regime is systematically persecuting the Bahais with the ultimate goal of eliminating the Bahais completely. Many Bahais have been sentenced to long prison terms and others have been executed. The money and personal property of many Bahais have been confiscated or destroyed. Bahai students are prohibited from attending Iranian universities and are denied exit visas to attend foreign institutions. Bahai homes have been destroyed and the occupants exiled. Bahais who have served the Government faithfully for years have been dismissed from their jobs. while private firms are forbidden to hire Bahai employees.
