St. Brendans. for the past 75 years. has not only served the spiritual and educational needs of its parishioners. but also contributed unselfishly to others who live in the community. St. Brendans parish was created in response to the religious needs of those immigrants. arriving from Italy and Ireland in the late 1800s and settling in the Norwood section of the Bronx. who sought religious. political. and economic freedom. Father ODonovan. originally from County Cork. eagerly accepted the challenge and hard work of establishing a parish. He was ably assisted by the people of the parish. especially the lay trustees.
