Mr. Speaker. the October 17 issue of Time magazine featured an article entitled "Playing Politics with Immigration." As you might be able to guess. that article was about our Speaker. The Speakers blatant attempt to politicize the issue of immigration reform flys in the face of what has heretofore been a bipartisan effort to address the challenge of illegal immigration. Four committees in this House have labored to produce a balanced reform package. The Speakers unilateral action to stifle this effort is a bitter disappointment to all Americans who believe that the bill should be considered. The Speakers attempt to lay the blame at the feet of the President is ridiculous.
