I have an important matter I wish to present in the form of a unanimousconsent agreement. Mr. President. for some time now we have been struggling with the idea that in order to make the August 20 recess it was necessary to dispatch our responsibilities in respect to a list of items which included the supplemental appropriation bill. this immigration bill. and other matters. The last major item other than conference reports that is on that list of must items is the debt limit. It has now been reported from the Finance Committee. and it is the intention of the leadership to ask the Senate to proceed to the consideration of the debt limit on Monday.
