In such a movement. neither the League nor the UN has ever pretended to take part. Popular rule and national sovereignty are the directions in which the world must move. in order to secure peace to the full extent that the limitations of human nature make it possible. The New Right. therefore. is not only politically practical. but economically sound. in demanding the enforcement of immigration restrictions. By the same token. we do not advocate an end to welfare. though we do feel. as witness the competitive economic condition of the United States. that it has gone too far. We have no use for the United Nations as the way to peace. because it quite clearly has nothing to do with addressing the causes of war.
