Session #97 · 1981–83

Speech #970206878

The Bergers have no permanent residence and are forced to move frequently. All of Nandors relatives are in Israel. The Bergers would very much like to join Nandors mother. brother. and sister there. In spite of repeated refusals. the Bergers continue to file for exit visas in the hope that they will one day be able to join their family in Israel. Soviet Jews continue to be persecuted. The Bergers are only one of the many families who have suffered and been denied the freedom to join relatives outside the Soviet Union. As Americans. we take the pleasure and priviledge of freedom for granted.
